Is R-453A compatible with mineral oil?

Yes — it is one of the mineral-oil-compatible R-22 replacements, so a conversion does not require flushing the system and changing to POE.

Is RS-44B the same as R-453A?

Yes. RS-44B is the trade name; R-453A is the ASHRAE designation for the same blend.

Which applications is R-453A used in?

Air conditioning and medium temperature refrigeration, in place of R-22. It covers much the same ground as the better-known mineral-oil drop-ins, which makes it a useful alternative when those are short on supply.

How does R-453A perform against R-22?

It behaves comparably in the applications it is rated for, though the exact capacity and discharge temperature depend on the equipment and the load. Log what the system does before you touch it — without a baseline there is no way to tell a normal post-conversion shift from a fault.

In a sea of scams this website is legit for your freon needs... I only paid about half for their R22 as I would have on those accredited wholesaler websites. I researched for weeks and then finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did as their R22 is the real deal and worked out great for my immediate need. Once my order was placed, I got an email with a link tracking my shipment. It only took 3 business days for my pig of R22 to arrive at my door. Will purchase from again.
