Which applications does R-421A cover?

Air conditioning plus medium and high temperature refrigeration, which is unusually broad for an R-22 replacement. For a shop servicing a mix of AC and cooler equipment, that means one blend can cover jobs that would otherwise need two.

Does R-421A work with the existing mineral oil?

Yes, it is formulated to be compatible with mineral oil, so a conversion does not require changing the lubricant. That is the practical reason it competes with R-407C, which does.

How does R-421A perform against R-22?

Close enough for general service work, with some change in capacity and discharge temperature depending on the system and conditions. Record the system’s baseline performance before converting so any change is measured rather than assumed.

Can R-421A be added to a system that still holds R-22?

No. Recover the existing charge fully before converting. Mixing refrigerants leaves you with a composition nobody can read on a gauge set and a system that cannot be diagnosed or legally recovered as a known refrigerant.

In a sea of scams this website is legit for your freon needs... I only paid about half for their R22 as I would have on those accredited wholesaler websites. I researched for weeks and then finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did as their R22 is the real deal and worked out great for my immediate need. Once my order was placed, I got an email with a link tracking my shipment. It only took 3 business days for my pig of R22 to arrive at my door. Will purchase from again.
