Why is R-452A used in transport refrigeration?

It was developed primarily as an R-404A replacement for trailer reefer units, refrigerated bodies and low temperature commercial systems, where its behaviour suits the duty cycle and the equipment manufacturers approved it for that use.

What lubricant does R-452A use?

POE oil, consistent with the R-404A equipment it most often replaces. Confirm the specification for your unit before converting.

How does R-452A compare with R-404A on capacity?

It is intended as a practical replacement rather than an exact match, and behaviour varies with operating conditions and unit design. Follow the unit manufacturer’s conversion guidance, and take baseline readings before you change anything.

Does R-452A have glide?

Yes. Charge as a liquid and account for the glide when setting superheat. On reefer units in particular, a mischarge shows up as a unit that cannot hold setpoint under load rather than as an obvious fault.

In a sea of scams this website is legit for your freon needs... I only paid about half for their R22 as I would have on those accredited wholesaler websites. I researched for weeks and then finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did as their R22 is the real deal and worked out great for my immediate need. Once my order was placed, I got an email with a link tracking my shipment. It only took 3 business days for my pig of R22 to arrive at my door. Will purchase from again.
