What does R-449A replace?

R-404A and R-507 in commercial refrigeration, and it serves as an R-22 alternative as well. It is one of the two mainstream lower-GWP routes out of R-404A, alongside R-448A.

How is R-449A different from R-448A?

Less different than the two product codes suggest — they overlap heavily in application and performance. The choice normally comes down to which one the equipment manufacturer has approved, and then to keeping a site standardised on one. See our side-by-side.

What lubricant does R-449A need?

POE oil. Converting a system that ran on mineral oil means changing the lubricant as part of the job.

Does R-449A have glide?

Yes, enough to matter for charging and for reading superheat. Charge as a liquid and work from dew and bubble points rather than a single saturation temperature.

R-22 Freon was the real thing. My techs say I got a great deal and it worked perfectly on a repair they did to one of my units. Though it seemed like a sketchy website, they shipped it quickly and well packaged. i will use Aero Refrigerant again for my techs needs.

In a sea of scams this website is legit for your freon needs... I only paid about half for their R22 as I would have on those accredited wholesaler websites. I researched for weeks and then finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did as their R22 is the real deal and worked out great for my immediate need. Once my order was placed, I got an email with a link tracking my shipment. It only took 3 business days for my pig of R22 to arrive at my door. Will purchase from again.
