What range of applications does R-427A cover?

An unusually wide one — low temperature refrigeration through medium temperature and air conditioning. For a contractor whose work spans freezers, coolers and AC, one blend can serve all three, which is the main argument for it over the more application-specific alternatives.

How much mineral oil can be left in the system?

R-427A is notably tolerant of residual mineral oil compared with blends that require a full changeover to POE, which is what makes it practical on systems that are difficult to flush thoroughly. Follow the manufacturer’s retrofit instructions for the residual limits on your specific job.

Is R-427A the same as Forane 427A?

Yes. Forane 427A is Arkema’s trade name for the blend designated R-427A.

Is R-427A suitable for low temperature work?

Yes, which distinguishes it from the R-22 replacements aimed only at air conditioning. Confirm the equipment manufacturer’s approval for your specific low temperature application before converting.

In a sea of scams this website is legit for your freon needs... I only paid about half for their R22 as I would have on those accredited wholesaler websites. I researched for weeks and then finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did as their R22 is the real deal and worked out great for my immediate need. Once my order was placed, I got an email with a link tracking my shipment. It only took 3 business days for my pig of R22 to arrive at my door. Will purchase from again.
