A single 25 lb cylinder of R-507A. Because it is an azeotropic blend rather than a zeotropic one, it has effectively no temperature glide — which makes charging and superheat calculations straightforward compared with the glide-carrying alternatives. Used in low temperature commercial freezing. One cylinder covers a typical charge.

What does it mean that R-507A is azeotropic?

It behaves as a single substance rather than as a mixture, so it has effectively no temperature glide. Superheat and subcooling come off one saturation temperature, which makes it noticeably simpler to charge and diagnose than the glide-carrying blends that replaced it.

What is R-507A used for?

Low temperature commercial refrigeration — blast freezers, cold storage, ice cream and food processing equipment. It was widely used as a replacement for R-502 and in low temperature R-22 applications.

What lubricant does R-507A use?

POE oil. On any conversion from a mineral-oil system, the lubricant has to be changed over as part of the work.

Is R-507A being phased down?

Yes — it has a high global warming potential and is subject to the HFC phasedown, with R-449A among the routes out of it. It remains legal to buy for servicing installed equipment, which is why cold storage operators tend to secure supply ahead rather than buying spot.

R-22 Freon was the real thing. My techs say I got a great deal and it worked perfectly on a repair they did to one of my units. Though it seemed like a sketchy website, they shipped it quickly and well packaged. i will use Aero Refrigerant again for my techs needs.

In a sea of scams this website is legit for your freon needs... I only paid about half for their R22 as I would have on those accredited wholesaler websites. I researched for weeks and then finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did as their R22 is the real deal and worked out great for my immediate need. Once my order was placed, I got an email with a link tracking my shipment. It only took 3 business days for my pig of R22 to arrive at my door. Will purchase from again.
